Capital Resolve take the use of personal data and privacy seriously and are committed to ensuring that data is used fairly and lawfully in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We do not purchase debts so the Data Controller would be our clients who we work on behalf of. For the purposes of the GDPR we are the data processor where we are acting on behalf of the original creditor or the current owner of the account. This privacy policy explains how we will use, store and share personal data.

We may receive personal data from our clients who use our services.

When registering on our website customers may be asked to enter their name, address, card information or other personal details to help them with their experience and to process payment transactions.

We may also obtain information from credit reference agencies and from you or your appointed representative when you register or enter information on our website and from communications between us such as within telephone calls, letters or emails.

Categories of personal data

The personal data that we collect and receive from third parties, from yourself and your personal representatives may include any or all of the following: your name, address, date of birth, relevant account reference numbers, e-mail address, phone number, debt information, payment history, payment details, credit reference information, and any other details relating to your account. This data is likely to include information supplied by our clients. We will also retain records of communications from you concerning your account. Where appropriate and where explicit consent has been provided, we also collect limited sensitive personal data.

How do we use your personal data?

Where has your information been obtained from?

We could have obtained customer information from a number of different sources including our clients enabling us to fulfil our contractual requirements with them. In addition, personal data may have been provided by our customers when communicating with us.

How do we store and secure data?

We will retain your information for no longer than 6 years from the date of account closure, in accordance with the recommendations set out in the Data Protection Act. All information that you provide to us is stored on secure servers. The data that we collect from you will not be transferred to or stored anywhere outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).

Our website is scanned and tested on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities to ensure visits to our site as safe as possible, and to ensure our compliance with PCI-DSS.

We use regular malware scanning to ensure the integrity of our web pages. Personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology while in transit, and industry-standard encryption while in storage. We implement a variety of security measures when a customer enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of their personal information.

Cookies

We use session cookies to enable our site to function properly, but they only exist whilst a customer is using our site. We use persistent cookies to remember certain choices that a customer has made whilst using our website and we store these choices in persistent cookies so that we do not keep asking for the same information.

We do not collect any personally identifiable information or card numbers, unless it is entered using the forms on our website. We do not store any information entered on the forms in cookies.
